Wisdom workshops · the art of being present
Tea ceremony
A guided, seated ceremony, served with intention, at the pace of the room. The tea is good. The tea is not the point.
What it costs and how it works
A tea ceremony in South Florida books two ways: express, usually under fifteen guests, at $150, or the full ceremony and lounge from $300, with rugs, cushions, low tables and lantern light for your guests to settle into. One-on-one sessions, birthdays, weddings, corporate pop-ups and public sharings at farmers markets and festivals all run on the same tray.
I have poured for a single person across a table and for hundreds across a festival weekend at Hullaween. The ceremony is seated, guided and served at the pace of the room. If you want it alongside fire, tea opens the evening and fire closes it; see the fire performance page and the workshops for the teaching version, The Slow Set.
What it is
Gongfu cha, loosely: small pot, small cups, many pours. I guide it, I pour it, and in between the pours we talk — about presence, about what's actually going on, about the thing under the thing. I call them wisdom workshops because that's what happens when a room gets quiet together. Nothing mystical. Just attention, shared.
It works as a grounding counterpoint to fire, as the opening of an evening, as a retreat session, or as the thing that finally gets your team to stop talking over each other.
Formats
- One-on-one — private tea, just you and the tray. The slowest and deepest version
- Birthday parties and weddings — a seated ceremony as the grounding counterpoint to the party
- Small intentional gatherings — a circle on cushions, tea opens it, the conversation does the rest
- Public sharings at farmers markets — I’ve poured for the public at Coco Market in Delray Beach
- Corporate pop-ups — tea and mindfulness for a team, on site, in the middle of a workday
- Festival scale — the largest so far was Hullaween Music Festival: hundreds of participants across multiple workshops, discussions and ceremonial tea segments

Questions people ask
How many people can you serve?
Express is typically under fifteen. The full ceremony and lounge scales with the room — send the number and I'll scope it.
What do you need from us?
Space to sit on the floor, or low seating. Shade if it's daytime. Hot water access helps but I bring a kettle.
Can tea and fire be at the same event?
That's the whole arc. Tea opens the evening, fire closes it. Once we're on site and loaded in, ask about combined pricing.
Is this a private session or a group thing?
Both. Groups are where it shines, but the one-on-one version — grounding, tea, dialogue, integration — is the heart of my coaching work.
Where?
South Florida included. Further by arrangement.
